Problem
Barnes Global Advisors works at the intersection of manufacturing, education, and workforce development—helping individuals, communities, and institutions understand the massive opportunity within the industrial manufacturing sector.
Their challenge wasn’t the lack of opportunity or impact—it was awareness. Manufacturing is often overlooked in favor of tech or traditional white-collar career paths, leaving students, parents, and communities unaware of the financial stability, career growth, and high standard of living the industry can offer. Barnes Global Advisors needed a compelling way to tell these stories in a way that felt human, aspirational, and credible.
Prospective customers needed to see what DSI could do—specifically their ability to engineer and fabricate complex, custom HVAC and metal systems built to exact specifications, often under tight timelines. Traditional sales materials and static visuals weren’t fully capturing the scale, craftsmanship, or problem-solving expertise behind their work.
The
Solution
We collaborated with the Barnes Global Advisors team to create a three-part cinematic video series, each story designed to spotlight a different entry point into manufacturing and the real-world impact behind it.
One film followed an individual’s personal journey into manufacturing—showcasing how the industry transformed his career trajectory, financial stability, and quality of life. Another story highlighted an educator working directly with students, demonstrating how exposure, mentorship, and education can unlock clear pathways into successful manufacturing careers. The third film zoomed out to address the broader opportunity—reframing manufacturing as a modern, innovative, and often untapped career option that rivals traditional tech-sector roles.
Each story was produced with a documentary-style approach, combining authentic interviews, cinematic visuals, and narrative structure to create emotionally engaging, highly shareable content. From the long-form films, we also developed short-form social media videos to extend reach and impact.
